Homemade Almond Milk Candy.

HOMEMADE ALMOND MILK CANDY (CAJETA).

Milk candy or in México Cajeta or Dulce de Leche is a traditional sweet using in México, normally is with goat Milk but is hard to find so you can also use cow milk. If you don't want to put almonds you can skip that step, it is also delicious, The Cajeta, dulce de leche, arequipe or Almonds Milk Candy we use to eat with bread or cookies and also to make desserts.





Ingredients:

1 L. Milk.
30gr Almonds.
1 1/3 Cup of sugar.
1/2 tsp. Vanilla.
1/4 tsp. Baking soda



How to prepare:
1. In a cooking pot, add the milk and put to heat.
2. Add sugar, almonds, vanilla baking soda and mix.
3.During the process don´t stop mixing or leave because the milk can spill when boil and then you will not have your milk candy. Because of that you should be checking all the time and continually stirring.
4.If you put in high heat. you should be careful and reduce to medium or low or turn off if necessary if you see that start to go up. Just don't stop mixing. It takes 1 hour to make this delicious sweet. If you want also you can make in medium heat. Just it will takes more time.
5.After one hour you will notice that the color will change and also consistency. To check if its done use a plate and add 1 teaspoon of Milk candy if don't come together then means it is ready.
6. With this ingredients you can fill one jar of 500ml. if you want more for every liter of milk you need to add 300gr. of sugar aprox. and 30gr more of almonds.
